series: 5 & 6 months old
i am SO SO SO behind with this series. i am still in south africa and don't have regular access to the internet. so here is the first one:
mr riley turned 5 months old on 29th november 2012
Here is a few notes i made about him being 5 months old:
22 Nov: Riley rolled over 3 times in his evening sleep. he rolled from his back to his front. he hated laying on his tummy and woke up to complain about it. i turned him back on his back and fell back to sleep straight away.
25 Nov: mr R noticed that when he coughs we all pay him attention by either asking him if he is okay or by doing the same. so now he is giving us fake coughs when he feels like attention. we (my mom & dad, sisters, andre, katinka and riley & me) went to a photoshoot.
at the photoshoot we were telling the photographer that he can't sit up by himself yet, but then when we turned around he was sitting by himself (for the very first time).
26 Nov: mr R was laying down on his back laughing at his 'ouma' (grandmother in afrikaans) and the next moment he was sitting up. we were so shocked that he was doing this by himself, that we made him do it a few times.
8 Dec: riley is sticking out his arms now to go someone. he is also now rolling over from his back to front and back again on his own.
my little mister is such a happy little boy. when you tickle him he gets goose bumps/pimples. he LOVES it when you massage, brush & rub is head - he pulls a face of pure pleasure. he still LOVES his massages. he LOVES all men (i think he is surrounded by way to many women). he misses his daddy terribly. it's so bad that when he sees & hears his daddy's voice on skype or on phone he pulls this very sad face and starts to cry.
he has 3 spoons of cereal in his milk at night - just waiting for his dad to get here to start with cereal in the morning. he LOVES being the centre of attention - and that is so easy with all his aunts, uncles and grandparents. he HATES laying flat on his back. he starting to cry or pull a face when i leave the room. he hates the laying on his back so much that wants to try to sit up and drink his milk - this is a bit tricky since i'm still breastfeeding.
he is also starting to notice the sunglasses and hat on his head. he pulls the sunglasses off and also his hat.
and now 6 months, on 29 Dec 2012:when daddy arrived from the uk we started with giving riley cereal. he started eating his cereal in the evening and didn't even pull a face. so less than a week later we gave him cereal in the morning too. a week later we started with giving him one veggie at dinner time (replaced the evening cereal). with that he pulled a face and found the texture weird but that was only the first night. after that it was full steam ahead for him. a week later we started with fruit for lunch time. that he didn't like that much but after a few days he started to love the fruit too.
