Book: Claimed By Shadow (Cassandra Palmer #2)
this is the second book in the cassandra palmer series. to see the first book’s review, touch the dark, click here.
Plot:
Clairvoyant Cassie Palmer has inherited new magical powers-including the ability to travel through time. But it's a whole lot of responsibility she'd rather not have. Now she's the most popular girl in town, as an assortment of vamps, fey, and mages try to convince, force, or seduce her-and her magic-over to their side. But one particular master vampire didn't ask what Cassie wanted before putting a claim on her. He had a spell cast that binds her to him, and now she doesn't know if what she feels for him is real-or imagined...
My review:
i think this one is better than the first one, Touch the Dark. this book felt less like a history lesson & was even funny at stages. the descriptions in the book are wonderful. scenes such as Dante's casino are vividly described, but so are the action scenes - and there are some real gems like Mac's tatoo parlour. this book is still very fast paced and full of action but less confusing. the ending is a bit shocking – i am so glad i can start with number 3 (Embrace the Night) now and i don’t have to wait a year for it to come out.
