every time riley sees the camera, he asks to take photos.

here is just a few of the one's that i found on the camera and love it:





most of the photos are blurry since he doesn't really understand that he should keep the camera still and i also think that the camera is a bit heavy too.

always nice to see things out of someone else's perspective so i can't wait to see more photos from this little mister.

i can't believe that this little man has been part of our lives for the last 2 years and 7 months.

here are a few of the things he says that makes everyday full of laughter and joy:

* he thinks hiccups are the coolest thing ever, and constantly 'make' himself start hiccupping
* the other day we came home from a long day out and about, he walked into the house and told me to come and sit on the sofa:  "sit mamma, lay back on sofa".
* he doesn't say no, he says 'naaaaaa'
* he likes saying 'depossible' (impossible) when he can't get something right
* when he sees something that he likes, he always says: "look mamma, it's beautiful"
* when he enjoys his food, he will clearly say that it is 'delishiosh' (delicious)
* he loves putting lip balm on his lips and calls it 'lippe' (afrikaans for lips)
* he is getting so good at constructing sentences and the things he says is just to funny
* his favourite game on daddy's iPad is Mickey Mouse 'kakums' (clubhouse)
* he says 'i love you stukkend' when i say 'i love you stukke, stukke' (that is like saying love you loads and loads and 'stukkend' means broken)
* these last couple of evenings riley uses his 'riley piepie' (potty) and then jumps up and yell, arms in the air, "i did it, i did it!!!".  we are not potty training him yet, but he successfully uses the potty every night before he gets into the bath.

we try (if wayne's work permit) that riley go on a special day out with daddy about once a month.  saturday wayne took riley to a soft play area and lunch in kingston.



riley had such a wonderful time that he couldn't keep his eyes open anymore by 4pm and he had a quick power nap (that we struggle to wake him up from).


i know he can't wait for the next little 'date' with daddy.

a couple of weeks ago we went to the london aquarium and it was an awesome day out!

we went years ago and was a bit disappointed but apparently they had a refurbishment a few months ago and now it was so much better, & the best thing was that Riley LOVED it!

 the crocodile was the little man's favourite and i think we sat outside his tank for more than half an hour

 what we loved about the aquarium was that everything was so perfectly done; with statues and clever decorations in the tanks and also the seating space they had on the front of every tank.  perfect for little ones.

 what you can't see in the photos is that there is actually a light right on top of the turtles.  the top turtle really wanted to be close to the heat of that light.  it was so funny and riley was still telling us about this days later.

 the sand eels was so adorable and i still think the seahorses are a bit creepy.

 such a beautiful view!

we had a great time at the aquarium and we will definitely go back again, it is highly recommended!

last weekend we went to a little man's 2nd birthday party.  we all had so much fun, great food and a wonderful time with friends.

riley couldn't get enough of the bouncy castle, drum set and running around with little friends.

last week riley went to bocketts farm and he had the greatest day ever! 

petting the animals,


he had such an awesome day, that all the way home and at home (even during bedtime & pray time) he kept on telling me about all the animals he touched and fed.

thank you louise (& nathan & tristan too) for taking him to the farm and making his day!!

we love walking around our neighbourhood.  riley can't wait for our little walk after dinner, and runs to the door to grab his hat, backpack & shoes (and sometimes even his umbrella).  he refuses to leave the house without these things.






 we found some pumpkins in someone's garden, they planted them for the kids to decorate for halloween.  riley couldn't get enough and can't wait to go and play 'knock-knock' on the pumpkin (pumpa)



 taking a walk in all the things he chose to wear.  that includes the jacket, wellie boots, very warm hat and umbrella (even if it wasn't raining and actually a nice and warm day).
